Spring means that there are thousands of students graduating from undergraduate and graduate programs across Canada and the globe. Athabasca University’s convocation is as unique as its open and online programs which provide students with a flexible learning model that they won’t find anywhere else. Convocation in Athabasca celebrates this flexibility by sharing students’ stories as they walk up to receive their degrees. Some are single parents, some have taken thirty-three years to complete their degree, some are from Alberta, some are from Nigeria. Each grad has a unique story to tell.
As publishers, we help people tell their stories every day and this past weekend, we helped tell the stories of AU grads at convocation. Graduates shared where they had travelled from that day on our giant map. After just a few minutes, it was easy to see how Athabasca University is impacting lives from coast to coast.
